IPL Fantasy League 2021 – Match 28, RR vs SRH; Match 29, PBKS vs DC – Fantasy Tips

The fifth double-header in the IPL season 2021 is to be played on 2nd May. The first match is between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad at 3:30 PM IST in Delhi. The second match of the day starts at 7:30 pm between Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) in Ahmedabad.

This is a two-part article covering the Season Long Fantasy League team setup for both the matches, Match 28 and Match 29.

Match 28, RR vs SRH

This is a contest between the bottom two teams in the points table, who desperately need a win to move up. While SRH just won one out of six matches, RR is slightly better with just two wins out of six matches played so far this season. Both teams have prolific run getters for this match. We have to see whether Delhi patch wears out and gets slow down.

Along with replacing David Warner as a Captain, SRH also indicated that their overseas combination will change for this match. It will be interesting to see whether Warner will play the match or will there be any other radical changes.

SRH is playing their next match in three match span. RR plays their next match in four match span. So we will be able to carry many players from this match to their next match. We currently have just one RR player for this match. We will make two transfers to get the players for this match in our season fantasy team.

Players available for the Current Match: Chetan Sakariya (RR)

Number of Transfers: Two (+ One Uncapped)

Number of transfers Remaining: 68

Transfer Out:

Moeen Ali (CSK), Ravindra Jadeja (CSK), Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK): CSK plays their next match in a span of five match. So we are transferring out all CSK players.

Transfer In:

Jonny Bairstow (SRH): Jonny Bairstow is in good form this season. He has great fantasy potential due to his high strike rate, opening batting position and Wicket Keeper role. He will be our first choice pick for this match.

Rashid Khan (SRH): This world’s best spinner is the most consistent wicket taker. If the pitch slows down or assists turn, he is going to create more problems for batsmen. The shaky batting line-up of RR might want to play him carefully without taking risks in his bowling.

There are other good players for this match from RR as well. However it makes it easy to carry SRH players for their next match. So we choose SRH players over RR players.

Our Fantasy Team:

Uncapped Transfer In:

Rahul Tewatia (RR): We have a mandatory all-rounder slot vacant in our season fantasy team. Rahul Tewatia fits in that role. Though he is not impactful this season, we are taking him to our fantasy team due to his all round skills.

Captain: Jonny Bairstow (SRH)

Vice Captain: Rashid Khan (SRH)

Match 29, PBKS vs DC

DC is second in the points table with five wins in seven matches. Their top three Indian batsmen are scoring bulk of the runs for them in every match. PBKS has a mixed season with just three wins out of their seven matches. Their win over RCB must have given them good boost. However, their batting looks fragile if KL Rahul do not play well.

DC are taking a long gap of six matches after this match. So we will not be able to carry DC players for their next match. We can bring in a DC player to the season fantasy team as a one-off transfer for this match only. PBKS plays their next match in four match span. So we might be able to carry few players for their next match. We currently have six players for this match from both the teams. We do not want to make any additional transfers for this match.

Players available for the Current Match: KL Rahul (PBKS), Chris Gayle (PBKS), Rishabh Pant (DC), Shikhar Dhawan (DC), Prithvi Shaw (DC), Avesh Khan (DC)

Number of Transfers: None (+ One Uncapped)

Number of transfers Remaining: 68

Transfer Out:

Chetan Sakariya (RR): RR plays their next match in a gap for four matches. So, we are transferring out this RR player.

Our Fantasy Team

Uncapped Transfer In:

Harpreet Brar (PBKS): Harpreet had a memorable outing in the last match with the three big wickets of RCB batsmen. He fits in our available budget after releasing Chetan Sakariya.

Captain: Shikhar Dhawan (DC) (If PBKS bats first/KL Rahul (PBKS) (If PBKS bats second)

Vice Captain: KL Rahul (PBKS)(If PBKS bats first)/Shikhar Dhawan (DC) (If PBKS bats second)

Considering the dew factor, we are captaining the batsman from the team batting second.
