Preview:

Nepal and Thailand are the only teams in the ongoing ACC Eastern Region T20 to not have registered a win yet. All the remaining three sides have bagged two wins apiece. Nepal came into the tournament with lot of expectations but batting collapses saw them lose against Hong Kong and Malaysia. Thailand, on the other hand, were considered as the weakest nation among the five participants. The hosts, as expectedly, did lose all the three matches they played but failed to create any memorable moments in the tournament thus far.

Weather Condition/Report:

No threat of rain is forecasted at the Terdthai Cricket Ground on Wednesday morning but we could see a bit of clouds around.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The average first innings score in the morning matches at the Terdthai Cricket Ground took a rise as Singapore blasted a record total of 239 against Malaysia. The track seemed to be good for batting without any dampness. There was a hint of turn during the second innings but not before the 10th over of Malaysia’s innings.

Average first innings score: 177 (T20Is in the morning)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 0, Lost – 3

Top Picks:

Kushal Malla opens the innings for Nepal and also bowls a decent number of overs. In the last match, he took 1/19 with the ball and scored 19 runs. Against Thailand, he could end up scoring big and also pick up a couple of wickets. Even Sandeep Lamichhane is expected to bully the low experienced Thailand team in the current form. He claimed five wickets in two matches during this tournament. Sandeep came to Thailand having picked up a 6-wicket against the USA. The Nepal skipper Gyanendra Malla has been in good form of late with scores of 38 and 46 in this tournament. He scored big runs during the domestic T20 tournament which included a hundred.

Expert Advice:

Despite losing the first matches, Nepal fielded with the same playing XI. However, with the batting failing in both matches, they could be seen bringing in an extra batsman. The home team Thailand lost all three matches but have only made one change thus far. One of the reasons for that being lack of depth in the squad. Since the game against Nepal will be their last in the tournament, Thailand could be seen making a couple of changes.

Probable Winners:

Nepal is expected to register their first win of the tournament and leave Thailand winless.
