In the second game of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, the finalists of the 2020 season, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians will face each other. Delhi was the most successful team in the group stage of the previous edition of IPL. They managed to win ten out of 14 games and finished in the first position in the points tally. DC went on to lose both the qualifiers, which ended their campaign. They made some smart buys in the auction last month and managed to assemble a squad that looks really great on paper. But, DC would be missing the services of a few key players during the initial few games which might hinder their campaign.
The five-time champions, Mumbai Indians might have a slight advantage as the match is being played at the Brabourne Stadium. MI failed to qualify to the playoffs stage during the previous edition and would be looking to start their campaign on a high note. MI have a good mixture of young and experienced players which makes them one of the teams to watch in this edition. It would be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma manages to use the players available in the squad.
Here are 3 players you can avoid in your fantasy teams for DC vs MI game:
1. Tim Seifert
MI have Ishan Kishan, while DC have Rishabh Pant as the wicketkeeper. These two players might be your first-choice wicketkeepers in the fantasy team. Hence, you can ignore Seifert and pick some other batter in your fantasy team. Seifert is a T20 specialist as he has amassed over 2700 runs in 143 T20 matches at a strike rate of 127. He has scored one century and 13 half-centuries in T20 cricket.
2. Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan was picked by the Delhi Capitals for a price of INR 20 lakh in this year’s auction. He has previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings. He has scored 441 runs in 40 IPL matches at a decent strike rate of 138.24. He likes to bat in the middle-order and finish games. But, DC’s middle-order is already very crowded, which means that Sarfaraz might not make it to the final playing XI. Hence, it would be better to ignore him and look at some other players.
3. Daniel Sams
MI shelled out INR 2.6 crores to pick Daniel Sams in their team during the auction. Sams has previously played for the Delhi Capitals and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. He might not get a chance in this game to showcase his skills as MI already have all-rounders like Kieron Pollard and Tim David. You can avoid him in your fantasy team.
