Match Preview for Dream11 Fantasy:

The 2019-20 edition of the Big Bash League rolls on, and the second-placed Sydney Sixers will play hosts to Hobart Hurricanes as the former aims to revive their fortunes after having received a shellacking at the hands of Melbourne Stars in their previous fixture.

The Sixers were blown away by a rampaging Marcus Stoinis in the last game, who shellacked a plethora of records on his way to a breathtaking 147 not-out of just 79 balls; an innings which led the Stars to an eventual match-winning total of 1-219 after 20 overs.

They will now face Hobart Hurricanes, who after having managed just three wins in nine games, find themselves languishing at the second-last spot in the points table. The Hurricanes come into this game on the back of a 77-run pounding at the hands of Perth Scorchers after they were bowled out for a mere 98 in their pursuit of 7-175.

Weather Condition/Report

Unfortunately, it is expected to be a day of thunderstorms in Sydney on Thursday. According to the weather report, it is expected to rain throughout the course of the day. While the temperature is set to be between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius, the humidity is set to hover around 76%. More importantly, the chances of rain are 80%.

Pitch Condition/Report:

With rain expected throughout the day, the fast bowlers, as well as spinners, might come into play and wreak havoc against the batsman. There will definitely be moisture to start with, and both the captains will look to win the toss and bowl first.

Average first innings score:– 163 [In the three games at the venue this season]

Top Picks:

Sydney Sixers- The likes of Daniel Hughes [20], James Vince [16], Moises Henriques [41] and Jordan Silk [32] got off to starts in the last game but none of them could convert them into a substantial innings as Marcus Stoinis did, and the Sixers will hope that that is not the case against the Hurricanes. They would also hope Josh Phillippe [6] also gets back among the runs.

As far as bowling is concerned, the spin duo of O’Keefe and Lloyd Pope will be key on the SCG pitch that traditionally favours spin bowling.

Hobart Hurricanes- The Hurricanes batting unit that boasts of names like George Bailey, David Miller, Matthew Wade haven’t really loved up the expectations thus far. Maybe, Thursday is the day where they can finally turn it around. Thomas Rogers chipped in with two wickets in the last game while Clive Rose and Qais Ahmed picked one-each. These three will lead the bowling unit.
