Preview for Dream11 Fantasy

We are steadily moving to the business end of the ICC U19 World Cup 2020 and the 11th Place Playoff will see Scotland U19s square off against Zimbabwe U19s in Kimberley. Both sides come into this game after having lost their respective Plate semi-finals to Sri Lanka and England.

Scotland U19s have had an abysmal tournament thus far. After losing each of their three group-stage encounters, the Scotts redeemed themselves a bit when they beat UAE U19s by seven wickets on the Plate Quarter-final. But that was shortlived as they proceeded to get shellack by the Sri Lankans in the succeeding semi-final where they could only manage 8-149 in pursuit of the island nation’s total of 6-277.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have had a slightly better tournament than Scotland, but they too have faltered when it mattered the most. After racking up back-to-back wins in the final group-stage fixture against Scotland [by eight wickets], the African nation proceeded to beat Canada U19s by 95 runs in the Plate Quarter-final before eventually going down to England in the semi-final post their failure to chase down 9-286 in 50 overs.

Top Picks:

Scotland U-19s-  Scotland’s batting hasn’t really fired any cylinders in the tournament thus far. Syed (Uzzair) Shah [147 runs at 29.4] is the leading run-getter for his side thus far. He, along with Tomas Mackintosh [57 vs UAE], Kess Sajjad [93 runs at 23.35], who racked up a half-century, the last time these two sides met, will be key to Scotland’s fortunes. Daniel Cairns chipped-in with four wickets against the UAE while Charlie Peet and Jasper Davidson claimed two apiece in the last game against Sri Lanka U19s.

Zimbabwe U-19– Tadiwanashe Marumani racked up a whirlwind 85 off 54 balls, the last time Zimbabwe played against Scotland. Wesley Madhevere and Milton Shumba notched up half-centuries against Pakistan U-19 while Emmanuel Bawa scored a 95-ball 105 against Canada. These four will once again lead the batting-unit. The last time Zimbabwe locked horns with Scotland, Sakhumuzi Ndlela spearheaded the bowling attack with 4-27 while Dion Myers [2-21] and Tadiwanashe Nyangani [2-29] claimed two apiece.
