Match Details:

The 2nd game of the 4-match T20I series will be played between Oman Women and Germany Women at Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1).

The match starts at 1:30 PM local time (9:30 AM GMT) (3:00 AM IST).

Preview:

Germany Women registered their maiden victory in the T20I format as they thumped the Oman Women by 117 runs on Tuesday. This was the first game of the 4-match T20I series for the German Women on their tour of Oman. Janet Ronalds and Christina Gough scored an unbeaten 71 apiece for the Germany side. The duo added an unbeaten 158-run partnership for the 2nd wicket as the Germany Women finished with 172/1. In reply, the Oman Women crumbled trying to achieve high run-rate and were bundled out for only 57 runs.

Weather Condition/Report:

The weather is unlikely to interrupt the match for the second consecutive time in this series.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Al Amerat’s Ministry Turf 1 ground is completely different in Men’s T20Is when compared to the 1st Women’s T20I on Tuesday. The pitches here get better as the match progresses but scorecard suggested Oman did struggle with the existence of scoreboard pressure. Since Wednesday’s match starts at 1:30 PM, we can expect a proper bat first and win sort of pitch.

Milena Beresford picked up a 3-wicket haul in the first T20I of this series. Coming into the series, she scored only four runs across two innings she batted and didn’t pick a wicket in the two overs bowled across four T20Is. Oman’s Bhakti Shetty took at least two wickets in each of the first four T20I appearances. However, she went wicketless in the first T20I but is likely to make a comeback.

Expert Advice:

The first T20I witnessed Priyanka Mendonca concede 49 runs in her four overs and score just a run. This performance should not be considered for excluding her from the fantasy team. She scored 85 runs and claimed 4 wickets across the five T20Is played before this match. It is one of the reasons why we are backing her as a captain option.

Probable Winners:

The home team Oman Women are expected to bounce back strongly after a huge defeat.
